7th Grade ELA

Hello! My name is Anna Rush and I teach 7th grade English-Language Arts at Jeff Davis Middle. This year will be my 8th year as an educator, but my first year as a Yellow Jacket. I am so excited to be a part of the best school system around!

I am a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I also received my Master's from Georgia Southern University (Yes, a Double Eagle! Go Eagles!) in Elementary Education. I am now working towards my Middle Grades ELA certification.

I am grateful to be a part of the JDMS family and I cannot wait to see what the future holds as my new journey unfolds!

Language Arts - We focus on argumentative writings while bringing in speech standards in the form of debates. Students should leave 7th grade with a Lexile anywhere from 925 to 1050. Students should be reading something every day at home as well as in class. Daily writing in some form is also encouraged. As cliche as it is, "Practice makes perfect."
