Ms. Purvis - 6th-8th Math & Reading Connections

Hello. My name is Angela (Angie) Purvis, and I currently teach 6th-8th grade Reading and Math Connections at Jeff Davis Middle School. I have been teaching for 25+ years and absolutely LOVE my job!  I have one son,  Specialist Colby Purvis, US Army Reserve,, and one spoiled-rotten pup, TImber.

I obtained my B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education from Brewton Parker College, an M.S. degree in Early Childhood Education from Valdosta State University, and in July of 2021, an Ed.S. degree in Middle Grades Education from Georgia Southwestern State University. I also have 50+ hours of Dyslexia training from the Orton -Gillingham Institute. I have taught 1st and 2nd grades, all subjects, 4th, and 5th grades ELA and Social Studies, and currently 6th-8th  remedial math and reading at JDMS.

The goal of my class is to provide additional support for students while improving their confidence and ability to read and perform mathematics adequately. I look forward to a great and exciting year!

Please feel free to contact me through email ([email protected]) or by calling the school at (912) 375-6750. I look forward to a great year!
