About Me

My name is Christy Dixon and I teach 6th grade ELA and science. I LOVE teaching! I graduated with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Brewton Parker College in 2009.  My teaching experience includes special education and general education in both public and private schools.  I have taught every subject and every grade except Pre-K, 8th, and 12th.  I joined the JDMS school family as a 7th grade math and Ela co-teacher for the 2021-2022 school year.  

 

My husband Niles and I have been married for 22 years and we have two children, Lauren and Ethan.  I love reading, writing, and all things science! 

 

I am excited to have your child in my class this year!  He or she can expect to be challenged to meet high expectations set for them but also have fun while learning.  My goal is to help my students to love writing, reading, and science a little (or a lot!) more.
